My family still reacts this way when they discuss my diet (which they seem to do often when I'm not around). Crazy, stupid, the reason for all of my ills.....they can't find enough ways to blame my diet on all any and everything that has gone wrong in my life. And yet the heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholestrol, diabetes - well these health problems are just part of life and have nothing to do with their eating habits. I imagine their repulsion to be akin to what I feel when I run into someone who tells me they only watch FOX news. A quiet smile.
