		<description>ah yes, coffee grounds.  i use those to shower, and for some reason it never occurred to me that they would (obviously) then also be good for dishes.  if i could afford organic soap, i&#039;d be all over it.  i need to learn how to make old school soap with wood-ash lye and animal fat.</description>

		<description>sand is indeed a pretty good grease-cleaner. same applies for ground coffee, which is also excellent for cleaning your hands after repairing a thrown-away bike.

I have discovered and am reading an excellent book also, which is more about historical remnant treasures, and how they can be recycled into present wisdom/better choices: &quot;Ghosts of Vesuvius&quot;, by Charles Pellegrino. Wouldn&#039;t it be fun to be an archeologist who specialized in the excavation of trash middens? One could even get paid to spend the winters lecturing college students on the minutiae of ancient refuse.</description>
